Overview
About this work.
Midnight Geometry stages its figures along a darkened shoreline, balancing classical composition with a contemporary sense of unease. Wells paints at night, from memory, and the canvas keeps that after-hours quiet.
A highlight of the evening sale's figurative section, the work is offered from a New York private collection with exhibition history at two regional museums.
Provenance
The artist; private collection, New York; exhibited twice, 2024–2025.
Condition
Very good. Minor frame abrasion; otherwise clean. Condition report available.
