Artist profile
About Laila.
Laila Monroe photographs the classical world through a contemporary lens — shorelines, figures, and gallery interiors rendered in rich, patient detail. She shoots on film and prints her own editions.
Since joining Bidhaven in 2020, Monroe's harbour and landscape editions have become a fixture of the photography sales, with early numbers placed in institutional collections.
APPROACH
Monroe works slowly: one location, one season, one edition. Every print is made by her hand, numbered, and accompanied by full edition documentation.
“Light does the composing. I just have to be there long enough to see it.”
