About Sofia.
Sofia Ren paints large-scale abstractions built from poured pigment, palette-knife drawing, and sudden erasures. Her canvases move between celebration and wreckage — colour laid down fast, then partially destroyed, then rebuilt.
A Bidhaven creator since 2021, Ren's evening-sale debut tripled its estimate, and her work now sits in private collections across New York, Singapore, and Copenhagen. She works from a converted warehouse studio in Brooklyn.
APPROACH
Ren begins each canvas without sketches, pouring thinned acrylic across unstretched linen before working back into the surface with knives and dry pigment. No two works share a palette.
